How Skin MicroNeedling Work?

The procedure is commonly known as  MicroSkin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy. It is a technique aimed at stimulating microcirculation and the natural production of collagen on the face or body. During the treatment, we move a specially designed device over your skin, creating numerous micro-channels which activate the skins natural healing as well as helps our skincare products to penetrate. The skin plumps and thickens as a natural recovery response to this stimulus, ultimately reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, stretch marks, wrinkles and improving the complexion overall. By opening the skin in this way you also dramatically increase the penetration of specially designed skin products, from the serum in the treatment to a soothing mask to finish.

This is an innovative treatment which provides phenomenal results similar to laser resurfacing, fraxel or IPL, but at a lower cost. There is virtually no down time for the patient and within 24 hours the patient’s skin has little to no redness or inflammation. Medical Micro Skin Needling is a non ablative treatment because it does not remove the top layer of skin. Alternative ablative skin treatments such as lasers, chemical peels and dermabrasions do remove the top layer of skin and subsequently require more down time to recover. However, in situations where the top layer of skin is affected with more severe skin discolorations, deep wrinkles and extremely poor skin texture, then ablative treatments may be preferred. Unlike ablative procedures which are mainly used for facial skin, skin needling can be used on all parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, leg or face).

It can take between 2- 6 weeks before visible signs of skin regeneration are seen and the process will continue to evolve over the following months providing a gradual improvement. Although a single treatment can provide a noticeable result, ideally a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 2-3 weeks apart is recommended to achieve the best results.
