Ozone sauna therapy is the combination of steam sauna and ozone gas. Medical-grade ozone is a highly reactive form of pure oxygen that can help the body regenerate via the ability of ozone to stimulate the body to remove blockages that keep the body from healing itself.
Ozone therapy has been used in Europe for more than 50 years, as well as in the United States, to address various health conditions. Ozone, when it enters the body, helps the mitochondria in cells that generate power to make more of it, which can help improve a multitude of body systems.
During an ozone sauna session, you will sit in a specialized sauna pod that covers you from the neck down, with only your head remaining outside. As the steam chamber is producing steam, ozone gas is also produced and pumped into the pod. The steam induces sweating, which opens up your pores to allow the ozone gas to be absorbed by the skin. Ozone then enters your body through your skin into your lymphatic fluid, blood and fat cells. Toxins in your lymph, fat & blood are oxidized, and expelled out through your skin. Because ozone enters the body and pulls toxins out of fat cells, it increases the body’s metabolism and can assist with weight loss.
Ozone therapy works by enhancing the body’s utilization of oxygen which enables us to better fight infections, slow cellular ageing, enhance natural detoxification processes, improves blood circulation, improve vitamin and mineral absorption, fights inflammation, and destroys mold, parasites, candida, viruses and bacteria.
Hydrate – It’s best to be hydrated before your treatment. Drink water, non-sugary sports drinks, or coconut water. Don’t drink too much to avoid needing to use the bathroom during your session. Eat a light meal before the treatment.
Clothing – You will enter the ozone sauna without clothes or in a bathing suit. It’s best to expose as much skin surface area to the ozone as possible. You do not need to bring any special clothing. Remove all jewellery.
You can expect to emerge feeling energized, relaxed and rejuvenated. Drink lots of water post-session. It’s recommended to drink as warm water as possible to increase the absorption of Ozone in the body. We recommend you do NOT take a shower for at least 3 hours after your ozone sauna session.
The effects of the ozone sauna are cumulative that’s why we recommend doing a package of 10 sessions spaced close together (e.g., twice a week) to experience the full benefits of a therapeutic level detox. A session lasts 30 minutes.
It is also important that you do not use the sauna while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
