OUR STORY

Our story begins with Tania Duca and her husband, Calin, who immigrated from Romania to Canada in 1997 to raise their two small children, Alex and Daiana. One year after their arrival, Tania met a business owner named Philip who was looking for stylists to rent space in his building on Water Street in Kitchener. She asked him if he had any rooms available for aesthetic services, and though he did not, he decided to support her by building one. They put up a wall half way through his lobby (an area so small that two people could not turn at one time) and that was Tania’s first business.

The other rooms in Philip’s building did end up getting filled with hair stylists, and Tania would routinely offer their clients free manicures and waxing to get her name into the world. After three years of this, she and her family had settled enough for her to move down the road to Francis Street, where she worked in a slightly bigger space. In the spring of 2003, Tania bought a small brown house at the corner of Belmont and Highland, and opened Euro Reflections Hair Studio – Spa – MediSpa.

In 2009, Tania’s son Alex joined the team as a hairstylist and since then the family has grown even more, adding new members as they hired stylists and aestheticians who have become like family to the Ducas. Currently we have over a dozen staff members, a cosmetic nurse and Registered Massage Therapists.

In 2018, Tania celebrated 20 years of business in Kitchener by hosting an Open House with refreshments, fun, promotions and prizes. It was just the thing to honor the hard work and love that it took—from Tania, the Euro Team, as well as the community—to grow the business into what it is today. These days our staff is composed of professional and highly trained aestheticians and stylists coming from different parts of the world, each bringing with them, their own unique skills, personalities and styles. In the past few years, team members have been to the United States, Dominican, Greece and Israel to learn from International Masters in their respective industries. What started as Tania’s vision has become a family of hardworking individuals who love each other and what we do.
