One of the number one questions we get asked is how to get rid of stretch marks. Unfortunately, the truth is that for most stretch marks there is not yet technology on the market that erases them completely. Occasionally with very new marks we can make them completely disappear, but this is often not the case. Despite this, there are several ways to fade stretch marks or make them less visible. Whether you have stretch marks on your back, legs, stomach, breasts or arms, here are our favorite methods for treating them:
Stretch marks are largely genetic, so they are not completely preventable. Although you can defiantly keep them to a minimum with a few hacks. Using topical creams or oils helps to maintain the skin’s hydration level, making it more pliant to change. You may also want to consider collagen vitamins and/or omegas if you know you’ll be gaining weight or pregnant soon. Teenagers can benefit a lot from these vitamins and daily moisturizer, as growth spurts cause the majority of stretch marks.
With this method, your aesthetician essentially creates microchannels in the area you have stretch marks, which stimulates the body’s natural healing response and sends collagen to the area. We then apply a specially designed serum, which can be absorbed optimally by the microchannels, further benefiting the skin. This method offers bonuses such as reducing skin discoloration, scarring, and signs of aging, making it a favorite for stretch marks on the upper arms or areas with additional scarring.
This specialized machine is a favorite for moms, or anyone who want to reduce stretch marks while also tightening the skin. If you struggle with stretch marks on your thighs or bum, you may prefer this method because of its wonderful ability to reduce cellulite!
If you were hoping for a quick fix for a vacation or special day, sunless tanning is a great option that makes stretch marks look temporarily less visible. Not only is sunless tanning a safer option than traditional tanning, but when you tan in the sun the stretch marks don’t change color, making them even more noticeable! However, sunless tanners are designed to stain the stretch marks, making them blend much more favorably.
Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body, used to lubricate the tissues. Research has shown that its properties may be able to improve skin texture, accelerate wound healing and lessen the signs of aging when injected or applied topically. One of the main reasons that Hyaluronic Acid has such a plumping effect is because a single gram of the substance can hold up to 6L of water! This product can now be found in a variety of skin products, including the GM Collin Hyaluronic Filler Serum.
Since Hyaluronic Acid is naturally occurring in the body, there is a very small chance of reaction or sensitivity, making it a suitable product for most people. Topical versions of the product provide hydration through water retention rather than oil, also making it suitable for dry, combination, or oily skin types. That being said, Hyaluronic Acid mainly addresses signs of aging and is usually recommended for clients over 30 years of age.
Hyaluronic Acid seems to be everywhere lately, but this product is no passing trend. Hyaluronic Acid has been a trusted staple of the Cosmetic industry for years and has undergone countless research studies across the world. It’s a trusted product for aestheticians due to its ability to hydrate the skin, protect from external irritants, minimize fine lines, and give an overall plumping effect—all in one!
Everyone’s skin has a complex story behind it. From scars; to hormone variations; to genetics; to lifestyle; your skin is completely unique to you. Therefore, the best way to know what your skin needs is to have a consultation with a professional aesthetician, who can talk to you about your background and see your skin in person. From there, the practitioner can set up a plan personalized for you, and develop that plan as your skin progresses.
Below is a general overview of some of our favorite facial treatments, so you can explore what interests you, and ask your aesthetician if that treatment is right for your skin.
This is a 30-minute facial designed to provide relaxation. This facial often comes in packages as it is a nice component of a full spa day, or as a quick pick-me-up between your deeper facial treatments. The treatment involves a facial cleansing, gentle exfoliation, massage, mask and cream application. Any client of any age or skin type can have this facial, as the products used are customized to fit the individual. This facial shouldn’t be used to address prominent skin concerns, but rather as a relaxing treat!
This is our customizable, deep-cleansing facial. This facial is often booked when a client first comes to our spa, so that the aesthetician can get close to your skin and better assess what treatments you should look into for the future or what products might be beneficial for at-home use. This facial can be directed towards any skin type, and is good for anyone looking for a deep cleansing. However, Le Grande Classique does not specifically address anti-aging concerns and may not offer the maximum benefit for a mature client. This treatment involves a cleansing, gentle exfoliation, deep exfoliation, blemish extraction, high frequency, massage, mask, and cream application. If you’re new to our spa, or want to learn more about your skin, this facial is a great place to start!
This treatment has gained popularity over the last few years, and for good reason. A microdermabrasion treatment allows your aesthetician to deeply exfoliate the skin and improve its overall appearance. The technician uses a diamond-tipped device to polish the face, therefore improving the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions. This treatment is amazing for clients with asphyxiated skin, which can happen due to a variety of reasons, especially smoking. Asphyxiated skin has poor blood circulation and has difficulty shedding dead skin cells, causing build up on the face that appears as dullness. By eliminating these cells through deep exfoliation, the skin is brighter and optimized to absorb at-home skincare products.
Our Anti-Aging facials are customizable and follow the same steps as our Le Grande Classique facial. The only difference with these facials is that they add specialty masks and serums to Le Grande Classique, which infuses them with more powerful anti-aging agents to firm, lift, hydrate, reduce redness or improve elasticity. These facials are ideal for anyone over 30 years of age, with any skin type, who need an overall boost in their skin vitality.
This powerful Vitamin C treatment infuses the skin with antioxidants which boosts the skins natural regeneration systems. This allows the skin to repair damaged cells, brighten the complexion, and improve the signs of aging such as fine lines. This treatment is suitable for anyone looking to lessen the signs of aging on their face, neck and decollete. This treatment is also recommended after sun-exposure, in order to speed up the skins healing processes.
This facial uses advanced technology to deeply penetrate and encourage the skins natural healing systems. The OxyGeneo machine involves three head-pieces that exfoliate, infuse nutrient rich gel into the skin, and oxygenate so that the skin can optimally absorb the active ingredients. This treatment can be customized for different age groups and skin types, making it suitable for everyone, even those with sensitive skin. After this facial, the skin looks glowing and hydrated, making it a perfect treatment to have before holidays, a big event or a celebration. This is our favorite facial for brides, right before the wedding!
